Born in Floydada, Texas in 1934, Dolores lived in Texas until receiving an Art Design Degree from Texas Tech College, where she met the love of her life, Herman Hoffman. In 1957, immediately after college, they married and moved to California in the China Lake/Ridgecrest area. They stayed in the area for 60 years, before moving to Clovis in 2017 to be nearer to their daughters.
The most important things to Dolores were her family, her friends, and her art. She enjoyed painting in many mediums, including oils, watercolor and sketching, seeing the world around her as inspiration to be painted on her canvas. She was a member of the Desert Artist's League, and enjoyed taking workshops and plein aire excursions. She had lifelong dear friends in the Sewing Club of Ridgecrest.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hoffman. She is survived by her step-sister, Cherie Wyatt (Chris), daughters Elizabeth Scroggins (Steven) and Rebecca Black (David), Grandchildren Crystal Kouri (Caleb), Robert Black (Minji), Julie Black, and Great-Grandchildren Anora Kouri, Cyrus Kouri, Ellie Black.
Dolores J Hoffman will have a private inurnment at Clovis Cemetery in Clovis.
