

In 1960 Wally joined the Navy and served his time as a submariner on the USS Razorback. After his time in the service he rerturned to Fresno and started a family. Wally was a devoted husband and father and provided for them by working in several different fields until joining the Fresno Police Department in 1970. While on motorcycle patrol he suffered a near fatal accident in the line of duty and retired from the force in 1981. Wally believed if there is a will, there is a way and so after a lengthy rehabilitation he founded Kinchen Insurance Agency in 1983. He served his clients well and became successful accomplishing many accolades through the years until retiring in 2005. The agency lives on today through his son.
Wally enjoyed motor sports with his children, traveling in his motor home with his wife and dog, Bentley and spending time with his grandsons. He loved to golf and was an active member and served as past president at Belmont Country Club. He was also involved in the Fresno County Road Riders, American Legion, Elks Lodge, Masons, Moose Lodge and California Heartland. Wally was very excited about building a home in Oregon and spending time there on his tractor.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda of 48 years, of Fresno, his son, Kenny and his wife Bridget of Clovis; his daughter, Therese McDonald and her husband Clinton; of Fresno. Wally also leaves behind his two grandsons; Travis and Dylan McDonald.
Visitation will be at Boice Funeral Home on Monday, March 14, 2011 from 4:00 till 7:00 p.m.
Graveside service will be held at Clovis Cemetery on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.
