Born, February 28, 1935. Passed, March 12, 2020
Esther Espinoza came into this world on February 28, 1935. A Clovis, California girl from the beginning, she was the oldest child of John and Mary Espinoza. She was born in the family home on Woodworth Avenue, Doctor E. Pendergrass in attendance.
Esther had four younger siblings, sisters Agnes, Jennie, and Alice, and brother Gilbert. All have survived her passing.
Esther was a wonderful oldest Sister. She was chic and fashionable, and helped guide her sisters from being girls to young womanhood. She would purchase gifts for all her siblings, from her own money, on holidays and birthdays. Esther made the childhood of her sisters and brother a happier place.
In 1954, when she was a fetching 19 years old, Esther attended a dance in nearby Fresno. There she met young Jesse Cervantes. They fell in love and, at Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church, were married. It was April 1, 1955.
Jesse and Esther had three children. Alexander Jesse, Diana Leigh, and Suzette Michelle. Esther devoted herself to her babies, providing love and guidance their whole lives. Esther was a woman who lived for others, not herself. Esther was always their for her family. Her happiest moments were when she could devote time to her children and grandchildren. All of her grandchildren adored her.
Esther is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jesse Cervantes. Her children, son Alex Cervantes. Daughter Diana Cervantes Vogel, husband Ronald Vogel; their son Michael Vogel, his wife Charis Malm Vogel, and their daughters Adiya Grace Vogel, and Aniya Faith Vogel.
