Glenn L. Balentine passed away at the age of 83 on March 28, 2019. He was surrounded by his wife, three daughters, son, spouses, sister and some grandchildren. He was born in Tulare, CA and raised in Dinuba, CA. He graduated from Dinuba High School where he played football, basketball, baseball and ran track. He then graduated from Reedley College while playing baseball. He went on to engineering school in San Francisco and became an engineer draftsman for Tulare County for 14 years. He moved his family to the Fresno/Clovis area and worked for the Clovis Post Office for 34 years. Glenn and his loving wife Mary spent 20 years in Auberry before returning to Clovis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Florence, three brothers and two sisters. Glenn was an avid athlete and sports fan. He played city league football, basketball and softball. His love wasplaying fast pitch softball at an extremely high level, traveling the valley, state, and country. He played for various teams, primarily the Hanford Kings and Dinuba Condors. He was an avid LA Dodgers fan. He loved camping and being with family. He was a fun guy who loved planning family reunions and capturing it on film.
Glenn is survived by his wife Mary, the love of his life for 60 years; his son, Stephen Balentine of Fresno; his daughters, Cheryl Ens (Brad) of Santa Cruz; DeeAnna Montag (Ray) of Clovis; Kristi Benbrook(Jan) of Fresno; his sister Elaine Nash of Fresno (12) Grandchildren and (18) Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Boice Funeral Home in Clovis, Thursday, April 4th from 4:00-6:00 PM followed by a Rosary.
Funeral Mass will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Friday, April 5th at 2:00 PM, followed by a Christian burial at the Clovis Cemetery.
