In the early morning hours on September 12, 2021, while in the comfort of his home, Kent went peacefully to be with the Lord. His battle with cancer over the past 6 years showed his gentle, courageous spirit and unwavering faith. Despite all the challenges and suffering leukemia brought into is life, remained the most selfless and kind hearted person right to his last moments when Jesus called him home.
Kent was born to Orlan and Norma Thomas on April 28, 1954 in San Jose, California. Shortly after his birth his parents, along with older sister Nancy, moved to Fresno, California. A graduate of McLane high school class of 1972, Kent was an avid baseball player and later on in life found passions for skiing, golf and martial arts. In the spring of 1979, he met the love of his life and adoring wife of 40 years, Deborah Dupree Thomas. Together they shared a life full of memories and happiness; they had two children Dayna and Shane.
In 1985, Kent began working as a Maintenance Engineer at Community Medical Centers. He spent 30 years working in plant services and was a great handyman, always with a smile on his face.
He is survived by his wife Debbie; his two children and their families; Dayna and husband Gregory Worthan, Shane Thomas and fiancé Sabryna Best; grandchildren Rowyn Dupree and Landon Thomas;
sister Nancy Thomas.
