

Ismenia was a devoted wife and mother. She was a dedicated member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Also, she was a teacher for the Seventh Day Adventist School Systems in Panama and Costa Rica for 20 years where she developed lifelong friendships. In 1971, she and her husband moved to Los Angeles where they devoted their life and work to support their three children through medical school. Among those jobs and as an entrepeneur she and her husband bought two restaurants and bought and ran a supermarket in Riverside, CA. In 1999 when her husband passed away she moved to Fresno to be closer to her family. While living in Fresno she was an advocate for CASA, a charity providing assistance to foster children in the community. Ismenia was a member if the St. Agnes Volunteer Guild and a member of the DORCAS Charity Group in Clovis Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Ismenia was the loving wife of Adan Concepcion for 50 wonderful years before his passing in 1999.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Thomas Hackett and his staff at Hematology Oncology Medical Group, Dr. Gloria Jimenez and Dr. Almario Yanga together with the nursing staff of Fresno Heart and Surgical Hospital who graciously cared for her. Also, a deep appreciation to all family members that lovingly assisted in her care at her home, especially Odet and Marvin Mitchell, Betty and Fred Kerbs, Aris Nelson, and Alma and Misael Lezcano.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Isis Aguila and her husband Mario Aguila presently living in Panama, Dr. Rendoll Concepcion and his wife Tanja Concepcion living in Fresno, and Dr. Waldo Concepcion and his wife Rosie living in Menlo Park, Ca. Ismenia also leaves behind five grandchildren; Christine, Katherine Zoe, Elise and Kelli, and three great-grandchildren; Victoria, Carlos and Mariana.
Funeral Services were held at Montecito Memorial Park Valley View Chapel in Loma Linda, Ca on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.
