I had a really hard time at the service I wanted to go up and talk about James and the huge impact he had on my life. I just couldn’t bring myself to do so because I knew I would loose it. Once I moved to San Diego he was the only friend I still talked to on a daily basis. He would call just to say hi or sometimes just to hear my voice. I remember him calling once and then I picked up and he said “I’m sorry I have the wrong number.” and I called him on it and he said “Yeah, I just wanted to hear your voice.”  This probably won’t mean anything to anyone but he’d understand. I will always remember our day at the beach. When I’d visit he’d always say you better come see me I need a hug.  His friendship meant the world to me and I miss him everyday.

Today’s memorial was very special, inspiring.  Although I knew Jimmy as a sweetheart, I learned so much about him today and how much he influenced his friends.  This Bible verse sums it up in my mind and heart. ❤️

I've struggled to write something for awhile. James was incredible. So many memories, starting with meeting James at Rollertown. James, for all of his flaws actually loved bigger. He listened, was kind, loved kids. He was a young soul. He will be missed...every Halloween, every Thanksgiving (he taught me to stuff a turkey), every Christmas. Random days too. He was my brother, there in my darkest days. I hope he knows how much we loved him

James was the best friend anyone could ever ask for. He could always make me laugh when all I wanted to do was cry.  He always made me feel as if I mattered. I could talk to him about everything.  He loved with all he had and nothing or no one stood in his way.  He was great with my kids and loved them all dearly.  He will forever be in my heart and will be incredibly missed.

I have so many memories of James, I can't seem to pick just one. I remember skating with him through the neighborhood, him holding both of my new born children, helping me clean up 3 canisters of baby powder, late night talks, him consoling me while my husband was in the hospital,  when my grandfather died, when our adopted mother died. Stuffing countless Thanksgiving turkeys. Brother u are missed. We love you!
