
Larry was born to Ona Bradbury in Chickasha, OK. When he was three his mother married Edward Elbert Clifton who raised Larry as his son. Larry moved with his family to Ventura, California and lived there for the next 60 years.
Larry was drafted into the US Army in 1967 and served a tour in Vietnam. Upon returning home he married and raised his son, Billy Jay Clifton. He worked for over 30 years as an equipment operator for Caltrans and was known for his no-nonsense and unshakable work ethic.
Larry retired to Clovis, California and spent his favorite years making annual road trips to Idaho to be with his Grandsons, Zach and Luke.
He was known for his tremendous love for his family and an incredibly generous heart. Larry was the foundation of our family; we will all be forever shaped by his life and his principles.
Larry is survived by his loving son and daughter-in-law, Billy & Karen Clifton and their two sons, Zachary and Luke; sister Diana Carpenter and brother-in-law and life-long friend, Buddie Carpenter; brother Edward Elbert Clifton II; sister Elaine Bucknell and brother-in-law Alan Bucknell; brother Michael Timothy Clifton and sister-in-law Amy Clifton; five nieces and three nephews; and many great nieces and nephews and their children.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Ona Bradbury Clifton and his nephew, David Allen Carpenter.
A military service will take place at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura, California on March 10, 2018 at 11PM.
