She received her education at Bethlehem and and Rosc Creek Center Schools and Munden High School. She graduated from Asbury Hospital School of Nursing, Salina, Kansas in 1960.
Moving to California in 1963, she was a nurse at Sierra Hospital in Fresno, California for 25 years. She was a member of Northwest Church.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving parents, Glenn & Ann Shulda. She is survived by her daughter Carie Kazarian and her husband Randy; her granddaughter Lauren and grandson Adam Kazarian; her brothers Dewey and Larry Shulda. Her greatest love was her family.
