Family and faith were everything to Randy. He was a steadfast husband to his beloved wife, Dana; a loving father to his four children—Deryl, Drew, Marin, and Lisa; and a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. He was also a devoted brother to surviving sisters, Patricia Hinkle and Pam Smith, and recently deceased brother, Duane Shilling, and a fun-loving, faithful cousin.
As a man who desired to be more like Jesus, Randy walked closely with his Savior and faithfully planted seeds of faith in his children. He found comfort, purpose, and strength in his relationship with Christ, and as an elder at Quail Lake Community Church, he encouraged others to do the same. Randy had a special gift for recognizing the needs of others and a genuine heart to help wherever he could.
Randy also had a deep love for sports, especially baseball, which was his first and lifelong passion. He pitched at Clovis High School, coached both of his sons’ teams, taught his grandchildren the fundamentals, and rarely missed a San Francisco Giants game. In retirement, he became an avid golfer, cherishing time spent on the course with friends and family while continuing to improve his game.
Though he is no longer with us, Randy will be remembered for his strong character, steady presence, and the unwavering love he gave so freely to those around him. His legacy lives on in the lives of his children and grandchildren, who will carry his memory in their hearts always.
