Retha was one of nine children and had lead a very active life. She loved painting flowers, natural landscapes, and even her children's pets. She loved playing golf and board games, namely triominos, as well as cooking and baking cookies during Christmas. She also enjoyed caning things like her homemade salsa and black eyed peas and sewing and gardening. She was committed to attending her exercise classes and generally staying active in her community.
Retha was a true servant of God, faithfully and dutifully attending church as well as reading her bible. She frequently looked to the words of God and ended up wearing out three bibles. Always one for spreading the good word and genuine joy, she was also active in her church's Prayer & Caregiving groups. Some of her favorite music included Gospel with songs like "Amazing Grace".
Retha didn't adore just Gospel, she also adored Classical and Musical Theater scores. Some of her fondest musical memories were seeing Classical music concerts with her husband John as well as seeing shows together at Roger Rocka's.
Retha was devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. While we seek comfort and rejoice that she is now in Heaven with the Lord and John, we will still deeply miss her welcoming presence here on Earth.
Retha is survived by her daughter Denise Kimbrough-Wilson and her husband Paul; her son Rodney Kimbrough and his wife Lynn; her daughter Glenna Harold and her husband Kirk; and her son John Kimbrough Jr. and his wife Denise; her grandchildren Keegan Harold, Devin Harold and his wife Kylie, Nathan Maddox and his wife Sylvia, Tiana Davis, John Kimbrough III, Noah Kimbrough, Jessica Kimbrough; her great grandchildren Mason Harold, Yazmine Maddox, Bethany, Julian, Aiden and Jack Harold.
