Robert (Bob) Norman Hooper, 85, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at his home in Fresno, California. Bob was born December 11, 1933 to Robert and Alice (Hoban) Hooper in San Jose, California, the youngest of two children.
After serving in the U.S. Army, Bob moved to Fresno where he met the love of his life and wife of 60 years, Jennie Lucille Hooper.
In 1963, Bob began his lifetime career in the insurance industry. He enthusiastically served his many clients for over 30 years until his retirement from State Farm Insurance in 1994. Apart from his work, Bob most enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to go sailing, biking, and especially enjoyed spending time in his garage, detailing his cars. He also enjoyed being “best pal and biggest fan” to each of his six grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jennie; sons, Ben Hooper and wife Debi; Jack Hooper and wife Peggy; grandchildren, Jordan Escobar and husband Eric; Jonna DeSouza and husband Tyler; Cameron Hooper, Joel Hooper, Trevor Hooper, and Jake Hooper; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Escobar; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and older sister, Mary Barry.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:30 PM at New Hope Community Church on 4620 E. Nees Ave., Clovis, CA 93611, with lunch following.
