Sandra lost her long battle with cancer, and she passed peacefully in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ. She was married 35 years and baptized with her husband, Eric in 1994, serving their Lord together until her death.
She was born to Robert F. Lewis, Jr. and Ruby Anne Lewis in Santa Barbara, California. Throughout her life she was always faithful to Jesus and shared many testimonies about her walk with Him. She had a smile that you would never forget, a quiet way about her that told you she cared and was listening to you.
When she entered Kindergarten, her teacher asked that she be placed in first grade, since she had mastered reading before starting school thanks to her sister Pamela, four years older, who had taught her to read. This set the expectancy for her to be an excellent student and over achiever all her life. Her family moved to Solvang, California in 1974 to provide a rural setting and farm like living with horses and other animals.
Sandra loved music and playing the flute, joining the band in 5th grade at Solvang School. She became very proficient and in her second year she was asked to teach other students.
She participated in many 4H activities showing lambs and steers for market, earning many Blue Ribbons. After graduation from Santa Ynez High School, she attended Fresno State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science and business management. She met her husband, Eric Manro, while working as a Bookkeeper at an auto repair shop where he was employed.
Professionally she was a commodities broker in Santa Barbara, an administrator for the Seventh Day Adventist Conference of Central California and moved into the evangelism department. She served as Treasurer for both The Auberry SDA and Clovis SDA Churches. She was also Director of Women’s Ministries at both churches. She was employed at Zim Corporation of Fresno in the Accounting Department. With her many professional roles, one of her most treasured accomplishments was homeschooling her sons, (Cameron grades K through 4 and Andrew grades K through 2.) She took great pride in their education and being a mother was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her husband Eric, her sons Cameron, wife Jennifer and Andrew, wife Hannah, granddaughters Harper, Camyrn Lynn and Rose Marie, her parents, Bob and Ruby Anne Lewis, her sister Pamela, nephews Johnathan Row, Nathanael Row, nieces Anna Evans, son AJ, Sarah Johnson, and children Grayson and Gracie.
Funeral service to be held Friday, January 30th at 2:30 p.m. at the Clovis SDA Church, 2370 Helm Ave., Clovis, CA 93612, reception following.
