Sarah Melissa Gonzalez, a passionate follower of Christ and devoted mom of five, went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 14, 2024 in her home town of Clovis, California. The daughter of Stephen and Debra Fischer. She was born in Fresno County, California on a late October evening in 1976 and raised in Prather all her life. Sarah was diagnosed with ALS in 2022 and fought a strong battle. She passed peacefully at the age of 47.
Sarah was her own person, the definition of unique. She found grace in every situation. Her compassionate heart and loving spirit was a beacon of light to all who knew her. Sarah had an eye for those in need and would not hesitate to help in any way possible; whether it was the shirt off her back, her last penny, or her last cigarette. She always put others before herself. Sarah was a passionate mom who openly took anyone under her wing, and loved all children like her own. Her interests of crafting, fishing, the outdoors, reading, fantasy, and Disney are all carried on by her five children. Everyone who knew her has a piece of her within them. Sarah’s relationship with Jesus Christ was strong. She was a true believer and took any opportunity to share her faith with individuals far and near. She was a truly remarkable woman. Her eye for creativity was ever strong, whatever she could imagine, she could create. Her imagination and exaggeration were beyond measure; she did it all. Sarah’s ability to show resilience, share advice, and love in such abundance is just a sliver of what we will cherish about her.
Sarah is survived by her children, Jenna Lee Gonzalez, Joshua Ryan Gonzalez, Brian Gabriel Gonzalez, Madelyn Camielle-Grace Gonzalez and Violet Noelle Gonzalez; her parents Steve and Debbie Fischer; her brother, Brian Fischer; her husband, Chuck Gonzalez; her in laws, Charlie and Mary Gonzalez; her sister-in-law, Renée Cacchi. She also leaves behind several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Sarah will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Clovis Cemetery, 305 N Villa Ave, Clovis, CA 93612.
