Ted Amber, born October 27, 1938 (87) and Sharon Amber, born 12/01/1939 (86), inseparable in life and now in peace. They died unexpectedly on Friday, January 16, 2026, following a tragic automobile accident.
Their Shared Journey. Ted and Sharon’s love story spanned an incredible 67 years of marriage. Together, they built a life defined by resilience and an unwavering commitment to family. They weathered the greatest of life’s storms, most notably the loss of their eldest son in a car accident shortly after his high school graduation. Through every trial, they remained each other’s greatest source of strength.
About Sharon. Sharon was a woman of remarkable grit and grace. After a courageous two-year battle with lung cancer, she had recently achieved the milestone of remission. She lived each day with gratitude and optimism. Her favorite quote that she often shared with others, “it’s a wonderful day – I’ve never seen this one before.”
About Ted. Ted was the quintessential partner and protector. During Sharon’s illness, he was a constant presence, attending every appointment and providing the steady support that allowed her to thrive. Whether they were hunting for treasures to sell on eBay or enjoying a spirited afternoon at the casino, Ted and Sharon were rarely seen apart.
Their Legacy To their grandsons and granddaughter, they were more than grandparents; they were a sense of comfort, a place for fun, and always a source of interesting conversation. Gramma and Gramps cherished going to their school plays, sporting events, and hearing about their adventures, achievements, and future endeavors. Their love for their grandchildren will continue to be felt throughout their lives. They took immense pride in watching them grow into the fine young men and women.
Surviving Family, Ted and Sharon are survived by their daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Greg Smith, son, Lee Amber, along with their cherished grandchildren, Dakota and Sarah Horton Smith, Dustin Smith and Devon and Madison Amber; and Sharon’s brother, Larry Cossar. They are also thoughtfully remembered by a circle of family friends whose lives were touched by their character and kindness.
To us they were an inspiration for strength and perseverance. Always prioritizing our needs above their own. Mom and dad will be missed. Their presence will continue to live in our hearts. They will forever be loved and appreciated.
