After living in Paris, Texas her family including younger brother Scott, moved to L.J. in 1947. A graduate of Brazosport High School, she entered the workforce. Married to Dewey Koonce in 1952, she had one daughter, Belinda. Ammie always worked and accomplished an excellent career in the clerical field. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a patron of the Arts. She joined the Brazosport Symphony League and became an avid supporter of the symphony. She volunteered as a “Pink Lady” for the hospital, Sea Center, and ASPCA. She married Ivan Oden in later years, and was happily married for 25 years. They both shared extended family. Her life was filled with the love for Family.
Ammie is survived by her brother, Scott R Galbreath III; daughter, Belinda Koonce Boggess; extended family, which she considered her children, Robert Oden, Michael (Annette) Oden; and Belinda gave her 2 grandchildren, Nicole Gaefoley (Deceased) and Tony Boggess; and 3 grandchildren from Michael (Annette) Oden, Jennifer, Christopher and Carley Oden. Tony and Marlo Boggess gave her a great granddaughter, Alexandria.
She will be greatly missed by many, as she touched many lives. Her generousity and kindness will be remembered, just as her love for life and family.
Rest in Peace Mom
