She was preceded in death by her parents Adolf and Anna Filter Novian, her husband George Jentry, three brothers: Rudy, Alonzo and Alfonse Novian, her sister Elvira Puddles Langehenning, and her grandson Dax Burch. At age 94, Anita lived life surrounded by her family and friends. She loved to share stories of her childhood-how she learned to pick more cotton than any of the boys, how she was struck by lightning when she was a little girl and then later, about living during WWII raising two little boys while her husband was away in the Coast Guard. In fact, she was talking about Daddy and the war the night before she died. Having always believed in the Lord, at the ripe old age of 87, Mom made the most important decision of her life-she began her personal relationship with Jesus by inviting Him into her heart. She was baptized in the Gulf of Mexico at Quintana Beach. She loved her church family at West End Baptist in Freeport and had a special place in her heart for the ladies and gentlemen in her Sunday School Class. The past two years were hard on mom, but she never gave up. She defeated stage 4 breast cancer and fell and broke her hip near the end of her radiation treatments. She ended up getting around on a walker. Although she didn't like it, she accepted that was the best and safest way for her to get around and was thankful for it. I know she's in Heaven enjoying her freedom from that walker. Some may call us caregivers, but she actually took care of Tibby and me more than we had the pleasure of taking care of her. Mom will be sorely missed by her family and friends. We love you Mom......have fun in Heaven. Visitation will be Friday March 18, 2011 from 6-8pm at Restwood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday March 19, 2011 at 1pm at the Restwood Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Barry Foster and Rev. Jodie Jones. Entombment will be Monday March 21, 2011 in Fredericksburg, Tx. at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum at 1pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the West End Baptist Church 1400 W. 12th Freeport, Tx. 77541. Please visit our online registry at www.restwoodfuneralhome.
