Bobby Neal Weitner, 78, a resident of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2026. He was born on April 15, 1947, in Freeport, Texas, to the late Vernie R. Weitner and Gracie L. Weitner. Bobby graduated from Brazosport High School.
Bobby had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time outdoors fishing, boating, hunting, enjoyed bowling and dancing, and often spent peaceful days on the water and in nature where he felt most at home. Traveling brought him great joy, and many evenings were happily spent watching classic Western movies and listening to country and western music. Bobby also liked trying his luck at the casinos, tending to his garden, and savoring his favorite seafood meals.
In his younger years, Bobby proudly served in the United States Navy. He also worked for Dow Chemical for many years before retiring. For a time, Bobby held a real estate license and sold many
homes in the area. While living in Burnet, Texas, he was active in the Lions Club and volunteered with Meals on Wheels, enjoying the opportunity to give back to his community.
Above all, Bobby was a devoted father and a proud grandfather. He loved his family deeply and treasured the time he spent with his daughters and grandchildren, who brought him great pride and joy.
Bobby shared many years of marriage with Alice Ludean Weitner, and they remained close throughout the years, their hearts united in love and care for one another. Bobby also shared several years of marriage with Susan Kaspar, who cared for him and with whom he
enjoyed many fishing trips to the bay. In his later years, he was grateful for the special friendship and care of Judy Stephenson Clifford, and the family wishes to thank her for all she did for Bobby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernie R. Weitner and Gracie L. Weitner, and his brother, Charles Wayne Weitner.
Bobby is survived by his daughters, Gina (Peter) Dulcamara, Julie Weitner (Patrick Williams), and Jill (Vance) Stuart, and their mother, Alice Ludean Weitner. He was a proud grandfather to seven wonderful grandchildren: Jordan, Rachel, Peter, Anna, Emma, Tessa, and Michael.
A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held at Restwood Funeral Home in Clute, Texas, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Bobby will be laid to rest at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet, Texas, where he will be buried alongside his parents in the Texas Hill Country, a place he dearly loved.
He will be fondly remembered for his love of family and friends, his appreciation of the outdoors, and the many memories he leaves behind with those who knew and loved him.
