Married July 5, 1956 to Joyce Faye Smith, his beloved wife and best friend. Joyce proceeded Calvin in death earlier this year.
Calvin Eugene Smith served as a gunner on the USS Intrepid, in the Pacific Campaign during WWII, honorably discharged with commendation for valor, courage and accuracy while fighting under heavy fire of Japanese suicide attacks . He retired from Binswanger Glass Company.
He leaves children Rodney Smith, Randy Smith, Doug Smith, Barry Smith, Rick Smith, Donna Beth Green, 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
