due to complications from congestive heart failure. He was born
on April 3, 1944, in San Francisco, California, the second of 9
children.
He worked as an electrical engineer with Dow Chemical
until his retirement in 2001. On October 2, 2004, Dan dedicated
his life to Jehovah and became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He
enjoyed teaching others about the bible and was active in the
congregation. He enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and computer
games. He liked anything related to technology. Dan had a “dad”
sense of humor. He was very punny and had a dry wit about him
that would make you groan and chuckle simultaneously . After
his first wife, Linda, passed in 2011, he married Ester Petro
Humanez on December 14, 2013. Their loving relationship filled
his days with happiness. Dan and Ester lived in a household where
three-generations of family togetherness brought immense love,
support, and tons of homemade cooking.
Dan is preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Gernand
