Darrell was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoors sportsman. He loved being outdoors and doing anything involving hunting, fishing, and playing in the mud with his four wheelers and jeeps. He volunteered at his deer lease and with fishing trips several times with the Wounded Warriors. He really enjoyed taking Gauge everywhere with him and he had such a wonderful sense of humor, always having a smile on his face. One of Darrell’s favorite things to do was to catch any of his buddies in a compromising situation and video or take pictures so he could tease for a while on the sore subject -- especially if you drove a dodge truck. He never wore waders no matter how cold it got and he would laugh at his buddies if they did. His favorite camo flip flops and shorts were the choice of attire for all events. He was without a doubt one of the most generous persons we have known. He was, and always will be loved by his family and many, many friends and missed by all. He touched so many lives in so many ways. If you were ever stuck in the mud or at the beach in the sand, call Drail to the rescue. Today the wildlife in Brazoria County are resting easy as Darrell’s guns are silent.
He has an amazing amount of friends that have surrounded the family with love during this tragic loss.
