

Doris was born to Howard and Marie Mashburn of Velasco, TX on May, 17th 1936 as the youngest of three sisters.
Doris accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a young lady as a member of the Velasco Baptist Church in 1945. She was active in school at both Velasco Junior High and Brazosport High Schools as a cheerleader for six years as well as participating in the Little Y Teens and the FHA. Doris is a lifelong residence of southern Brazoria County, returned after as a young single parent of three after a short stent in Cleburne and Bryan TX. She worked hard and struggled to raise three children on her own, with very little, and could not have done a better job. She was always helping family out when in need and doing for others until it was finally time for us to take care of her. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Marie Mashburn, her late husband George Maraist Jr. and her grandson George (Beau) Maraist IV. She is survived by her three children, Joey Kenneda (Annette), Kim Kenneda, Kenneth Kenneda (Jennifer), step children Carolyn Powers, George Maraist III, sisters Helen Williams (Jerry) and Betty Davis (Norman). She also leaves behind the love of her life, her grandchildren Vicki Hale, Joseph Kenneda and Niki Kenneda, her great grandchildren Brittney Knaus, Jeremy Price, Shelby Kenneda and Ragen Hale and great great grandson Brody Knaus. Also left to cherish her memory is her cousin and best friend Kenneth Mashburn and many other nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Price, Ragen Hale, Gary Davis, Ronnie Davis, Rick Ward and Seth Viddal. Honorary Pallbearers are Kenneth Mashburn, Norman Davis and Jerry Williams.
