Our condolences to the family.  Our family remembers Gayle’s beautiful smile and genuine “good to see ya” wave on walks.  God’s love and Grace.  The Wainikainens.

There is no easy way to say “Good-Bye” but I prefer to say “Thank-you, God for giving us another Guardian Angel that will watch over my son and all of us forever.”  Gayle will always be a part of us and we cannot forget all that she taught us.  We will hang onto the memories and share her stories.  We must always know she is watching over us and will still guide us from Heaven.  Until we meet again Gayle – Love you forever!!!

(PAGE 2) As a grandma, Andma, was very involved and loving.  She gave a lot of her time to her grandkids and loved them very much.  Jayven spent many days in the summers with Andma and Papa.  Gayle taught him a lot about gardening and both she and Jayven loved to play hours of board games.  Papa’s job was to take Jayven fishing and Andma got the hotdogs cut up for bait!  
 
Gayle loved to see Jayven play baseball, basketball, soccer and football and she was always his biggest fan and the one we all could hear cheering in the stands!  She was very proud of all of her grandkids and Jayven was so proud to have her and Papa there.
 
Gayle’s home was integral in being the “meeting” place for all family from cousins, sisters, kids, neighbors….everyone was welcome!  Kyle, Ryan and Jayven got to hang out a lot together at Andma and Papa’s which was so great for Jayven as an only child.  The older boys treated him so kind as Andma had taught them to do.  
 
Gayle and I have made a lot of memories over the years and had a lot of fun.  We had so many fun holidays as a family and lots of Christmases together with many, many years of “Armadillo gifts!”   We had so much fun from baking Christmas cookies with Kyle, Ryan and Jayven to going together to craft festivals, concerts and of course shopping!  Gayle loved to create things and never shied away from a project.  She was also the BEST at finding Great Deals!  She was a dedicated and hard worker and never complained (even when it was 90 degrees opening boxes from sunup to sundown in the model home garages!)  We had so much fun together and I will truly miss her.

(PAGE 1) Gayle Scruggs was more than my mother-in-law; she was my friend.  For several years we even worked together.  (The hilarious stories we have from when we decorated all those model homes!)
 
Gayle’s love for her family was ever evident and being a mom, wife and grandma were the most important “jobs” to her.  You never had to question her love for you.  She was always happy to see you and gave many smiles and big hugs!
 
When Kevin and I met and were dating seriously, Gayle did not make it easy on me.  I know now those thousands of questions and at time “tests” were out of love for her son and her wish that both of us would always be happy.  As a mom of a son now….well, I get it and I pity Jayven’s serious girlfriends in the future! 😊
 
Gayle was a role model and inspiration to me in many ways.  She always listened to my side of the story and gave advise but never judged or blamed.  She was very understanding and helped you see the reasons for things and taught you how to move forward.  When I became a mom, she had to help me and give guidance on how to deal with boys since I grew up with all girls.  She was very helpful in that regard!  Seeing how she treated her own sons and Kyle and Ryan; I learned from her to not only love your kids but respect them, be honest, caring and true and treat them as people.  She helped me a lot when Jayven was little and taught me to stop worrying so much…it would all be ok and work out.  
 
Seeing Gayle’s love and respect for her own sons was an inspiration.  She loved Jason and Kevin so much and seeing the good men and dads they have grown up to be made her very happy and proud.  She shared many stories with me about Kevin and Jason.  (Her memory for details was incredible and she had a million stories to match!)   Even a few good ones I know embarrassed Kevin which I loved and that was just another sign of her love and acceptance of me.

Please accept our deepest condolences for the loss of your wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and sister.    Be comforted in knowing her love for all of you.  Rejoice in her memories and keep the memories in your hearts.  
Her love for you is eternal.  Hold onto that infinite love let it be your personal guiding light.
Special hugs and prayers to our son-in-law Kevin, our daughter Heather, and our grandson Jayven.  May you comfort each other in this trying time and know that you are in our hearts.

Rest in the arms of our Lord dear Gayle.  We had fun taking care of the Gazebo garden at Ft. Bend,   being "barn babes,  doing yard art crafts, and working the plant sales.

I found Gayle a friend , confident when talking to her. She indeed loved to make you feel at home when wecaccepted her invitation any time. I know she treated my daughter as a child of her own and  I do her son , Jason.
I know she was a good Mother to her children as they are great people . This will be Gayle’s accomplishment to our world. God has Gayle in his arms now and I will miss her.
My sincere condolences to her husband, Lesile, Jason , Kevin and  her sister Myra. I also wanted give condolences to her daughter-in-laws and the grandchildren who miss her who terribly I know they were close to her.

Gayle is survived by her husband Leslie Scruggs and her two sons Jason Scruggs (Linda Scruggs) and Kevin Scruggs (Heather Scruggs). Her sister Myra Patterson (Roger Patterson) along with many nieces and nephews, in-laws and three grandsons; Kyle, Ryan and Jayven Scruggs as well as 2 step grandchildren Alexander and Katelyn Matthews.
