Genevieve Villarreal

Genevieve (Beva) Villarreal was born on January 3, 1930 in Bay City, Texas and passed away peacefully to her heavenly Father, August 21, 2021. She was born to her parents Manuel & Leonor Ybarra (+). Genevieve was a sibling to 4 sisters and 1 brother; Mamie (Gus +) Garcia, Lucy (Lupe) Ramirez (+), Vickie (+) (Mike) Garza, Nora (Henry) Flores, Manuel (Maria) Ybarra. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, Herminio Gonzales. Genevieve is survived by her husband, Jesus Villarreal of Lake Jackson and her children, Earl (Corinna) Gonzales of Freeport, Steve Gonzales (+), James (Martha) Villarreal of Clear Lake, Jesse (Ellie) Villarreal of Florida, Anthony (Julia) Villarreal of Rosharon, Lisa (Alex) Montemayor of Angleton, Jorge Villarreal of Florida and Martin Villarreal of Lake Jackson. She is survived by her grandchildren; Sonya Gonzales, Russell (Traci) Gonzales, Melissa Gonzales, Angie (Oscar) Lewis, Traci (John) Duron, Jamie Villarreal, Jessica (Ray) Hall, Jesse N. Villarreal, Christina (Aaron) Hoot, Raquel Villarreal, Miranda Fritz, and Alexis Montemayor. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.

Genevieve worked at J.C. Penney’s in Freeport and Lake Jackson for 33 years. She enjoyed family gatherings for every event; cooking everyone’s favorite meal and was an avid Astros fan. She was a humble person who was a devoted wife and mother as a caregiver to family and friends. She always wore a smile, loved and prayed for everyone unconditionally. Genevieve was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and devoted her time as a chapel volunteer. She will be greatly missed!

The pallbearers are Russell Gonzales, Frank Cisneroz, Johnnie Ramirez, Rick Torres, Gus Garcia, Jr. & Michael Gonzales and honorary pallbearers are Earl Gonzales & Manuel Ybarra.

Visitation will be held on August 30, 2021 from 5:00pm to 6:30 pm with a rosary starting at 6:30 pm at Restwood Funeral Home, located at 1038 W Plantation Dr, Clute, TX 77531.

Funeral Mass will take place on August 31, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Michael the Archangel Church, located at 100 Oak Dr. S, Lake Jackson, TX 77566

Burial will be at Restwood Memorial Park following the Funeral Mass

In lieu of flowers donations be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society & St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 100 Oak Drive South, Lake Jackson, TX 77566.
