

J.E. was born on January 15, 1937 in Bonham, TX to Marvin and Bessie Brown. Jimmy married Janice Stephens in Fort Worth, TX on February 21, 1962.
Jimmy’s greatest accomplishment in his life was loving and caring for his wife Janice. Jimmy and Janice were happily married for 55 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army for two years as a mechanic. He worked at Dow Chemical for 41 years as a technician when he retired in 1997.
He was an outstanding family man, husband, and friend. He loved his dogs and watching the Houston Astros. He was a Cub Scout leader for several years. He was highly active, willing to serve, and involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Jimmy Edgar Brown is preceded in death by his father, Marvin O. Brown; mother, Bessie Owens; brother, Orville Brown; sister, Eula Morgan; granddaughter, Kelsea Brown; and son, Jimmy Marvin Brown.
J.E. is survived by his wife, Janice Brown; daughter, Debra (Les) Mendez, of Brazoria, TX; son, Charles (Sheila) King, of Freeport, TX; son, Steve (Johnye) Brown, of Richwood, TX; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday July 28, 2017 at Restwood Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 2 :00 p.m. at Restwood Funeral Home on Friday, July 28, 2017, followed by the gravesite service.
