Jonathan “Johnny” David Armstrong, Sr., 62 years old, of Clute, TX, passed away on May 27, 2019. Johnny was born to Howard and Lavonne (Kitchen) Armstrong on September 25, 1956 in Plant City, Florida. He was the elder twin brother of Joseph “Joey” Armstrong and the older brother of Robin Armstrong. The family moved from Florida to Texas in 1957. Johnny grew up very close to his grandmother, Allie Kitchen. They enjoyed spending time fishing and crabbing at the river in Freeport. Other influential figures in his life included his uncles John, Louie, and Verlon Kitchen.
Johnny married Margaret in Clute, TX on September 2nd, 1980. Together they raised two children, JD and Melissa. Johnny dedicated his life to protecting others. Johnny proudly worked at Intermedics for serval years as a Fire and Safety Officer and Security Officer. Johnny also worked as a Security Officer for Brazosport College for 15 years. Above all, Johnny loved socializing with people. He loved getting to know people and making people laugh.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lavonne and his twin brother, Joseph “Joey” Armstrong. Johnny is survived by his wife Margaret; children JD and Melissa, and his four-legged companion, Zoey. Also survived by his sister, Robin Armstrong; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
