Jonathan started his early years in Premont, TX around his Ozuna and Rodriguez family with local friends where he played basketball in the local gym where his grandfather had access to. Jonathan played football for the Premont Cowboys where his grandmother Rodriguez would be his biggest fan on the sideline. The family then moved to Lake Jackson with his mother and grandparents where Jonathan played football, basketball, ran track and was on the wrestling team at Lake Jackson Intermediate. Jonathan also boxed with a local club at the time with his close friends. As he continued to journey through his adolescent years he went to Brazoswood and Brazosport high school where he met many friends and enjoyed his life being “Jonathan” and continued playing sports on the streets, through First Baptist Church and with local organizations. Jonathan made Who’s Who among high school students in 1991/1992. He was truly a kid at heart and continued to stay active through his children. After the children grew out of their sports, Jonathan still reached out to the local Baseball associations to umpire where he was still active for several years.
Jonathan met his wife, Judy of 29 yrs in high school and later married on Valentine’s day of 1997. They had 4 children Roger Medina (Deonna), Jonathan Joseph Ozuna Jr, Jonathan Noah-Taylor Ozuna (Shania) and Julia Joe Ozuna (Marcus); and he is also survived by his mom, Annabelle Ozuna. Jonathan loved spending time with his grandchildren and looked forward to them growing up so he could coach them. He valued family time and would encourage his children to enjoy life with their family because that was the little things that mattered most.
