

His many interests included hunting, fishing, and history. He was a member of The Sons of the Republic of Texas as wells as The Sons of the American Revolution-Texas Society. He has been an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church since 1943. Rev. Stevens was a pastor of several churches, a teacher at Texas Bible College for 13 years, served on the Texas District Board of the United Pentecostal Church for 19 years and traveled extensively both in the United States and abroad teaching prophecy for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Bessie; his son Don, 1 granddaughter; Regina Wynn and 5 siblings.
Rev. Stevens is survived by 2 children, Linda Wynn and husband Marshall of Houston, Sandra Elliot and husband Don of Angleton, daughter-in-law Treva Stevens of Angleton; 6 grandchildren, Cindy Long, Ryan Elliot, Scott Stevens, Shauna Elliot, Kristi Whitten, and Donna Coleman; 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a great host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Restwood Funeral Home in Clute. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 31, 2020 at First Church Pearland, 1850 Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581 with Rev. Ken Gurley officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM in Clute.
Pallbearers will be Scott Stevens, Ryan Elliot, Marshall Wynn, Jordan Wynn, Bill Coleman, and Mike Todd. Honorary pallbearers are Don Elliot, Ken Long, and great grandsons Levi Whitten, Tyler Stevens, Josh Butler and John Ryan Elliot.
