Ligia was born December 8, 1922 in Tarabacoa, Dominican Republic to Manuel Ramon Tavares and Bertilia Rodriguez Tavares. She was a faithful woman who loved to cook and always helped others. She would give her last penny just so her family would not go without. She was a loving wife of 52 strong years. She had an incredibly sharp mind and could remember just about anything. Ligia was always giving to others no matter what. She will be deeply missed by numerous family members and friends. Special thanks to Lupe Cortez for showing compassion and care when taking care of Ligia.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband Rolando Olivares; children Roland Olivares, George Olivares, Emma Olivares and Edward Olivares and wife Rosemary; grandchildren Samantha Olivares, Tiffany Marie Thelen, Eddie Olivares and wife Suzanne, Brandon Olivares and wife Abbey, Vanessa Gisselle Matthews, Maranda Renee Jimenez and husband Albert, Michael Olivares; great-grandchildren Albert A. Jimenez, Brooke L. Jimenez, Aden F. Jimenez; and Julian Edward Olivares.
