

Louis was born on January 24 1939 in Freeport Texas. He was a lifelong resident and grew up in East End. In his youth he was a member of the Freeport Baseball Teams, The Cubs and The Rookies. Louis was drafted into the US Army and served his country proudly in both Germany and Greece, and upon exiting from full time military service he signed up with and served further in the National Guard. In his non-military career he worked at Dow Chemical for over 36 years; and after his retirement, also worked for Brazosport ISD for several years.
Louis was very active in the Clute Baseball and Softball communities, serving as a boys’ baseball and girls’ softball coach, in which his children participated. Louis was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Texas Longhorns. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Louis is preceded in death by his parents, Julio & Consuelo Ramirez, 3 brothers Antonio Ramirez Sr., Alonzo Ramirez, Filomeno Ramirez Sr., and a sister Lucy Arias.
Louis is survived by his son Louis Ramirez Jr. (Deana); daughter Brenda Ramirez; grandchildren Bobby Ramirez, Makayla Ramirez and LeeAna Sosa.
Louis is further survived by his brothers Adam Ramirez, Oscar Ramirez (Josie); and his sisters Margie Sibas, Eva Lara, Caroline Alvarado (Jesse) and Alice Martinez (Ruben); as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Freeport First Assembly of God where he was an active member and celebrated his faith.
A visitation will be held on Thursday September 10 2015 at Restwood Funeral Home beginning at 6pm.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday September 11 2015 at Restwood Funeral Home beginning at 10am.
