

Manuel “El Loco” de la Rosa Jr., age 63, of Freeport, TX returned to his Heavenly Father on March 20th 2015 in Lake Jackson with his family and loved ones surrounding him. El Loco was born on February 17th 1952 to loving parents Gilbert & Juanita Garza in Sheboygan, WI. El Loco became a resident of Freeport TX in 1978 and became well known in the community in his career as a diesel mechanic.
El Loco loved his family. He loved to spend as much of his time as possible with them, and would do anything for his family and friends. He had a great big heart and never met a stranger. Beyond his family and friends, he had a strong passion for working on Harley’s and old cars, restoring many works from rough to diamonds.
Manuel is preceded in death by his father, Gilberto M. Garza and his grandmother, Paula M. Villarreal.
Manuel is survived by his dear mother, Juanita V. Garza; daughter Brenda de la Rosa-Ortiz (husband Jaime); son Manuel de la Rosa Jr.; sisters Leonor de la Rosa, San Juanita Campbell, and Mary Woodruff; brothers Antonio de la Rosa, Gilberto Garza Jr.; granddaughters Alyssa R. Ortiz and Isabel Ortiz; grandsons Daniel A. Ortiz, Manuel de la Rosa III, Adam de la Rosa, and Christopher de la Rosa; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other extended family.
Serving as pallbearers will be Manuel’s grandchildren.
Visitation of Friends and Family will be held at 6pm on Monday March 23 2015 at Restwood Funeral Home. All are invited to come and share memories of Manuel.
Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Tuesday March 24 2015 at Restwood Funeral Home.
To fulfill a special request of Manuel’s, the family and friends are asking that all who own a motorcycle please attend the funeral service and participate in a Motorcycle Salute to honor Manuel “El Loco” de la Rosa Jr.
