Marion Sue (Cunningham) Kimbrough

Marion Sue Cunningham Kimbrough, of Angleton, Texas, was born in Seadrift, Texas on February 19, 1936 to Alice Blanche (Butler) and Edwin Locket Cunningham and died June 12, 2013 in Houston, Texas at the age of 77 years. Her family moved to Clute, Texas 1942 where she attended Clute Elementary, and has friends from the 1st grade and before, Lake Jackson Jr. High, 7th thru 9th grade, Brazosport High School, graduating in 1954 and then attended Southwestern Business University in Houston, Texas. She lived in Houston for many years where she married, had 3 children, Carter Neal Stewart, Davis Locket Stewart, Sherri Lea Stewart Gill. She later moved to Ingleside, Texas. She returned back to Clute in 1979, married soul mate in 1979, Jack Kimbrough. They had their 1st date at age 10 yrs with brother, Dale, going along. She was a very strong and loving woman. Her family and friends meant the world to her. She was accomplished in gardening, sewing, painting, spending time with her church family, traveling, and needlework. She was a great caregiver for her (daughter) Sherri Gill, (mother) Alice Cunningham, and (husband) Jack Kimbrough. She would do anything in the world for anyone. She loved spending time and doing things for her family. She will truly be missed. She belonged to Eastern Star, Velasco, Gulf Prairie Presbyterian Church of Jones Creek, Texas. She considered members of Gulf Prairie Presbyterian Church to be brothers and sisters of her heart. Her special friends of more than 70 years; Pat, Maurice, Betty, and Joanne, “Love you all, sisters”.She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Kimbrough; parents, E. L.” Doc” and Blanche Cunningham; brothers, Tommy and Edwin (Bubba) Cunningham; sister, Janice Stahl; beautiful children, Sherri Lea Stewart Gill, Davy Stewart, Leslie Kimbrough, and lifelong friend ‘Jo’ Simpson. She is survived by her son, Carter Neal Stewart and his wife Laura; daughter, Terry Stringer and her husband Jay; grandchildren, Jessica Sue Gill Franz, Jamie Gill, Kelsey Gill Franz, Kaitlyn Stewart Cennamo, Tyler Cole Stewart, Andi Soto, Daniel Stringer, Jackson Kimbrough; great grandchildren, John “Scutter” Franz, Emily Grace Franz, Lane Stringer, Olivia Stringer, Addison Stringer; sister, Martha Carol Collins; brother, Mike Cunningham and many nieces and nephews she loved very much.
