Mary Ann Longoria of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away peacefully with her husband and two daughters by her side on May 3, 2026. She was born on June 8, 1938, in Brownsville, Texas, to the late Napoleon and Francisca Hernandez. She was the youngest of five siblings.
Mary Ann earned her degree in Home Economics and minored in Music (piano) at Incarnate Word College in San Antonio. While attending college, her best friend arranged a blind date that led to 66 wonderful years of marriage to the love of her life, Juan Longoria III. The couple spent two and a half years in Trona, California, before settling in Lake Jackson in 1963, where they built their home and raised their family.
Mary Ann is survived by her beloved husband, Juan Longoria III; daughters Teresa Gonzalez (Carlos) of Lake Jackson and Rosemary Barron (Mike) of Fort Worth; and is preceded in death by her middle daughter Lucilla Longoria Henderson (Eric) of Lake Jackson. She also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren — Christine Gonzalez Portillo (Justin), Marcus Gonzalez (Peyton), Phillip Barron (Kelsey), Kevin Barron (Shannon), Natalie Barron Chamberlain (Gage), Audrey Henderson Kersey (Jon), Indy Henderson (Christy), and Emily Henderson — as well as seven great-granddaughters, with two more great-granddaughters on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.
Mary Ann was a devoted parishioner and an active member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Lake Jackson. Her background in music inspired her to teach piano to young children in the area. She was deeply involved in her community through the Brazosport Symphony Orchestra, the Brazosport Symphony League, the Community Foundation of Brazoria County, and many other local organizations. Her kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit touched countless lives.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the IPH Hospice staff for their compassionate care, as well as to the five dedicated caregivers who provided around-the-clock support during her final two and a half months.
Mary Ann will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and her dedication to her community. Her legacy will live on in all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 5:30 - 6:30 PM, followed by a Prayer Vigil and Rosary. A funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 10 AM. All will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church at 100 Oak Drive, Lake Jackson, Texas 77566.
