Ninfa Maria Gonzalez

On Thursday, June 8th, 2023, Ninfa Gonzalez, loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at the age of 74, and was welcomed into the arms of her heavenly Father. She was born on December 11th, 1948, in Falfurrias, Texas, to Ramon and Maria Garza. Ninfa had two children, Thelma and Rick.

Ninfa had a fierce love for her Savior, which was evident in how she lived each day to share the love of God with others. Ninfa received her Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Bethel Bible Institute of the Assemblies of God. Multiple evenings each week for ten years, she devoted herself to prison ministry in the Rio Grande Valley. Ninfa was also part of Christian Ministries of the Valley, which is the founding group for a Christian radio station, Radio Vida. She hosted a live radio broadcast in both English and Spanish on Sunday evenings for 15 years. She had a faithful following and took the time to pray for those who called in with prayer request. Ninfa completed an internship at Victory Outreach in San Antonio. She volunteered at the Rio Grande Valley Mujeres Unidas en Christo and was a volunteer Chaplin for the Helping Hands & Hearts Hospice in Lake Jackson. Ninfa will always be remembered by her family for her gift of hospitality, encouragement, and genuine love for the Lord.

Ninfa was preceded in death by her father, Ramon, and her mother, Maria. She is survived by her daughter, Thelma (Blas) Perez and son, Rick Salazar and grandchildren, Leiah (LT), Aaron, Nathan, Lauren (Chris), and Jonathan and great grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Jackson, Luke, and her little Chihuahua, Branci.

A visitation for Ninfa will be held Monday, June 12, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restwood Funeral Home, 1038 WEST PLANTATION DR, CLUTE, TX 77531. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 1038 WEST PLANTATION DR, CLUTE, TX 77531. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM, 1038 WEST PLANTATION DR, CLUTE, TX 77531.
