Rose spent her career in the service of others. After graduation, she received her LVN license and served others and the community as a caring nurse. The family was extremely proud when she was able to save an older man with mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and bring him back to his family. She worked with mentally challenged adults, drug and alcohol addicts, and prisoners who were trying to reform their lives in the hopes of living a drug free, and crime-free life. She came from a family of ten children and spent her time in caring for her younger siblings.
On July 23, 2005, she married George Vargas and spent several years building a home, traveling to beautiful destinations like the Vatican and other European Cities, Spain, and numerous cruises. After she retired in December 2013. She liked to spend time with her only daughter, and beautiful granddaughter. She loved sister time and enjoyed outings with her loving sist ers. She was a member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Clute for over 30 years where she spent time serving as a Eucharist Minister with her husband and later became a member of the Catholic Daughters. She lived an enriched life always centered on God. Even when she became ill several years ago, she heavily relied on her Savior's guidance and accepted her cross and willingly trusted God through her journey.
Rose can best be described as a "Woman of God." She was always willing to accept her cross and faithfully follow God. She was patient, kind, loving, understanding, generous, compassionate, and humble. She was a Godly woman and shared her faith with others through her actions and not just her words. She taught others about God and lived her faith every day. She left a beautiful place in the heart of everyone who knew her. We will miss her tremendously but will honor her by living a life full of all the beautiful virtues she taught us.
