Frank Grimmett, 70 left us on November 2, 2014. He was born on July 18, 1944 in Pocatello, Idaho to Jack and Margarat Grimmett. Frank proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1967 and was stationed off the coast of Vietnam. After the Navy, Frank went to work for P.G.& E. as an electirician where he retired after 40 years. He was a loyal supporter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Coalinga. Frank loved fishing, golfing and shooting but his true passion was working with his hands. He was the first to offer someone a hand if they needed help on a project. Whether it be wood-working, a simple electrical project or building a full blown shop, he could do it all. His knowledge was amazing. He looked forward to hanging out with the fellas at Chevron every morning for coffee, but not as much as he looked forward to that first Keystone Light with the boys after a hard days work. When not busy with a project, he relaxed by watching NASCAR, football, a good baseball game or an old western movie. Preferably one with John Wayne.
He is survived by his son; John Grimmett & daughter-in-law; Lisa and grandson Bryce of Cottonwood, CA, his wife; Laurena Grimmett of Coalinga, CA and his brother; Tom Grimmett & wife; Renee of Las Vegas, NV.
A Celebration of Frank's Life will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge; 165 W. Durian Avenue, Coalinga, CA 93210.
Arrangements under the direction of Palm Memorial - Coalinga Chapel, Coalinga, CA.
