
Andrew Terek, age 89, of Cocoa, Fl. passed away on November 4, 2021. He was dedicated to his family and country. Andrew is survived by his loving wife, Marlyn and his children, Debora, Randy, Barbara, Ron, Michael, Debbie, Georgina, John, Joanne, Lee, and Marlyn, and joins daughter Bobbi in God’s House. He dearly loved all his children (12), grandchildren (11) and great grandchildren (7). And will forever live on through this legacy.
Andrew was Navy veteran and served his country in the Navy reserves and seaman on the Destroyer USS Charles R. Ware DD 865 (Korean War). His field was radar. In 1953, he leveraged his naval experience via GI bill, studied radio and television, and graduated with an associate’s degree in electronics and television broadcasting. In 1956, he moved his family to Cocoa, FL working for RCA Missile Test Project (Timing and Firing). In 1963 Andrew was named Leader, Range Instrumentation, Cape Canaveral. He went back to school in 1962 in order to stay in the missile program. He graduated in 1970 with bachelors of science degree in physics from Florida Institute of Technology. Andrew worked through the Space Shuttle years as a contractor for NASA and seen as “a man that could get things accomplished”. He retired in May 1997.
Andrew enjoyed painting, traveling and scratch offs. His time with the Charlie R family was special.
To know Andrew is to understand that the choices he made were for his family. Each job he took or didn’t, each decision he made - whether liked or disliked was to provide for his wife and children, to provide a better life than he had.
Andrew was a naval veteran, a patriot, strong believer in United States and the constitution and fiercely dedicated to his family. He was truly blessed by the hands of God.
