Bobby served in the United States Army. He retired from Brevard County where he worked as a Land Surveyor.
He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Elizabeth Griffis, son Bobby Gene Griffis, Jr. and his sister Rose Bud Pitts.
Survivors include his daughter Darlene Warner; brother James R. Griffis; 3 sisters Coreen G. Cuburn, Ramona Griffis, Diane Griffis; 3 grandchildren Bobby Lee Griffis, Carl Ryan Griffis and Austin Lyle Hartman; 4 great grandchildren Conner Griffis, Cayden Griffis, Caleb Griffis, and Autumn Hartman.
