

Celia was born on April 26, 1936 in Massachusetts to Walter Frank Sroka and Antonina Rusin Sroka. She grew up in Springfield where she attended Commerce High School, graduating in 1954. She had fond memories of going to camp and the Springfield Girls’ Club where her love of sewing began.
Celia worked at Paramount and Arcade Theaters as a candy girl, usherette, and ticket taker. Later, she worked at Rubin Brothers Department store as a bookkeeper. After her children were born, she stayed home to be a wife and mother.
In 1957, Celia married Robert E. Bonds and they shared 41 years together. She became a devoted primary caregiver during his MS journey until his death in 1998.
Celia’s hobbies included sewing, knitting, fishing, playing Bingo and reading.
She is survived by her daughters; Charlotte Rumpel (Jay), Charlene Toney (Jim) and grandchildren; Jordan Bonds, Jason Toney (Mary), Casey Rumpel, Jamie Maximo (Herb), and Dustin Rumpel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Antonina Sroka, her husband, Robert E. Bonds, twin sisters, Mary June Gray and Annie Sroka.
Celia lived life the way she wanted to. We’ll miss her stories, habits and the things she used to say. She is at peace and with her Lord now.
A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Cocoa Memorial Park in Cocoa, Florida.
