

He attended South Lake Elementary, Madison Middle, and Astronaut High Schools. Scott was active in the Boy Scouts of America sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and achieved his Eagle Scout award in 1986. His Eagle Scout project was planning, fund-raising, purchasing, and placing the four concrete benches that are now a part of the Astronaut Memorial in Titusville honoring the fallen astronauts of Space Shuttle Challenger and Apollo 1. After graduating from AHS in 1991, he attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah. He received his BS degree in Environmental Studies in 1997. At the time of his death, he was pursuing his Master’s Degree in Homeland Security-Geo-spatial Intelligence from Penn State University at State College, PA.
Scott’s intelligence work took him out of the country and while stationed in Colombia, he met and married his wife, Maryluz Aranza in 2011. They are the parents of one child, Marianna Graves(2012).
In addition to his wife and child, he is survived by his parents, Don and Betsy Grimm Graves; uncles: Preston (Dail) Grimm and David (Pat) Grimm; and cousins: Garrett, Trevor, and Brandon Grimm. He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents Clyde and Nancy Grimm and paternal grandparents BC (Skeeter) and Helen Graves.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 from 3-7pm at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home. services and interment will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 beginning at 10am at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home and then Brevard Memorial Park.
