Fran, born in Beacon, New York, was the second of three children born to her parents, Francis and Roberta Mayen. She is survived by her sister Naomi Mayen and brother Douglas Mayen, and her three children: Paul, Scott, and Tracey Wolff. She will be lovingly remembered by her four grandchildren; Sarah, James, Jessica, and Aaron; and her daughters-in-law Kim and Cheryl.
Fran was born and raised in New York and attended The State University of New York Potsdam, graduating in 1958 with a degree in Music. Her love of music, particularly playing piano, fostered not only a career as a public school music teacher, but also as a private piano tutor.
Fran fell in love on a blind date and married her late husband Paul, with who she shared 59 wonderful years. Fran and Paul moved to Florida in 1994 to retire in their dream home on the water, near their children. Fran loved travel and hosting family gatherings and celebrations, but especially relished watching her grandchildren’s growth. Attending plays, concerts, little league games, and graduations made Fran extremely happy and proud. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend throughout.
A memorial service for friends and family will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday September 24th, 2022 at True Life Church of Melbourne (2190 Sarno Rd, Melbourne, FL 32935). Visitation will immediately precede the service, starting at 10:30. Fran will be laid to rest next to her husband at Florida Memorial Gardens (5950 US-1 Rockledge FL 32955).
In lieu of flowers it is requested that donation to the American Cancer Society be made in Fran’s honor.
