Born in Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Gioia graduated from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania before attending the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, from which he graduated with the second graduating class. He finished his residency in Orlando, FL in 1965 before moving to Brevard County to practice Gynecology for 50 years. Dr. Gioia constantly challenged himself to learn and grow in his field. He was a pilot and enjoyed physics, classical music, and scuba diving.
He is survived by his beloved wife and bestfriend of 53 years, Dorothy Gioia; four children: Camille Misa (Joe), Christopher Gioia (Stacy), Cathryn Birle (Alex), and Jason Gioia (Holly Weber); and six grandchildren: Cathryn, Avery, Cayden, Celeste, Olivia, and Zachary.
A visitation will be held Saturday, November 14 from 6-8PM and also on Sunday, November 15 from 2-3PM followed by a celebration of life service at 3PM at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home.
