Born in Langhorne, PA, Gertrude first moved to Miami, FL in 1949 before going to Panama. Gertrude moved back to Florida in 1960 from Wichita, KS. She retired from Pantry Pride Grocery after many years working as a clerk.
Gertrude was a former member of Merritt Island Baptist and participated with In Touch Ministries. She enjoyed sewing, crochet, and volunteering for organizations like Meals On Wheels.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover C. Cooper Jr.; son, Grover C. Cooper III “Trey”; two brothers and five sisters. Gertrude is survived by her children: Charles Benesta (Judith) of Louisiana, Jan Janson (George) of Florida and Gale Luke of Florida; 8 grandchildren: Karen, Kathy, Randy, Anthony, Kris, Cliff, George, Cara; 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 9-10AM with a service to follow at 10AM at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home.
