Louise R. Hunt

Louise, one of eight children, was born and raised in the Panama Canal Zone. She married Joseph Hunt and they raised their one son Joseph and three daughters Jerrilynn, Janet, and Jacque in the Canal Zone. They both worked for the Panama Canal Company, a U.S. Government entity until they retired. After retirement, they moved to Dothan, Alabama. Her husband Joseph died in 1987, and her daughter Jacque died in 2002.

After Jacque's death, she relocated to Merritt Island, FL to be closer to her son, daughters, and their families. Once settled in Merritt Island, Louise became a faithful member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, where she was a reading granny. Anyone who met Louise knew what a classy, gracious woman she was. She never judged, and loved unconditionally. Louise stated that her "biggest pleasure was to live near her children and their families and laugh and be included in all the interaction at family gatherings".

She is survived by her sister, Marge Ruoff, her three children Joseph Hunt, Jerrilynn Farnsworth, and Janet Watkins, her 10 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Louise's memory to the Divine Mercy St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Funeral services will be held at Divine Mercy on August 5, 2017 at 1:00 PM.

Her funeral mass service will be held on Saturday, August 5th at 1:00pm at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 1940 N. Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, Fl 32953.

A Celebration of Life for Mom will be held after at the Radisson Hotel - 8701 Astronaut Blvd, Cape Canaveral, Fl 32920.

We have secured room blocks at the hotels listed below. For those who may arrive on Friday, the Radisson has very limited rooms. however, we have secured room blocks at 2 nearby hotels, the Homewood Suites and the Country Inn & Suites. For Saturday, the Radisson has more room availability.

The Radisson offers airport shuttles to/from Orlando International Airport . $33.00 for one person one way, $50.00 for two people one way and each additional person in the same shuttle is $10.00 per person one way.
