

Born on March 19, 1935, Mary graduated from Emporium High School in Emporium, Pennsylvania. She proudly served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1957 before embarking on a long and dedicated career as a Medical Lab Technologist before retiring from Cape Canaveral Hospital.
Mary shared 68 loving years of marriage with her husband, Robert E. Vaughan Sr. Together they raised five children: Robert E. (Ella) Vaughan Jr., Cheryl A. (Greg) Galpin, Kathryn M. (Paul) Hoffmanns, Deborah L. Batts, and James A. (Linette) Vaughan. Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren—Robert, Michael, Daniel, Joshua, Stephanie, Brandon, Blake, Michelle, and James—and nine great-grandchildren—Gabriel, Micah, Lucas, Katie, Gracie, Sienna, Grayson, Brooklyn, and Roselyn. She is also remembered by her sister-in-law Shirley Otten.
Mary was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockledge and contributed her musical talents for many years by playing the organ at Masses, weddings, and funerals as part of the church choir. She especially cherished traveling with her husband, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cyril Lee Miller and Margaret A. Miller (Roynan), her in-laws, Harry G. Vaughan and Florence M. Vaughan (Tamer) and her brother Michael L. Miller.
A visitation will be held on December 10th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, 1360 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL. A Funeral Mass will be the following day on December 11th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 56 Barton Ave., Rockledge, FL. Interment with military honors will take place at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims at 1:30 p.m.
Mary’s life was one of service, devotion, and love—a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
