Sara Claire Milton, 88, of Titusville Florida, passed away on July 14, 2021. She was a Christmas baby born in Milan Tennessee and often referred to herself as being a present from Santa Claus. The family soon moved to Rome, Georgia where she lived and later married and moved to Titusville Florida, in the 1960’s.
She was a stay at home Mom who was often surrounded by her sister, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She loved watching the Price is Right and eating a delicious southern style breakfast but, most of all, she adored caring for the needs of those she loved and being fiercely loyal and dedicated to her family.
She found great joy in singing and writing song lyrics to 1940’s melodies, watching 1940’s black & white movies, laughing, telling jokes, making people smile and singing songs especially “School Days”, at large family events, which always brought loads of fun for all. She adored the golden age of Hollywood, so much so, that her childhood dream was to move there, change her name to Gerri Devin and compose songs. The loving family reference of her as a feisty spitfire was on point and part of her lively charm.
Her calm quiet side was evident in her strength, dignity, contentment and warmth. Her spiritual growth was very important, so she specifically and proudly explained that she believed in “The Trinity” of the Christian faith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Darrell Milton (1926-1993) and survived by her sister, Jane Perry, her son Joseph Darrell Milton II (former wife Sabrina), daughters Dawn Lester (Craig,) Laura Naughton (Michael), Sandra Boatman (Allen), grandchildren Kara Lester, Brandon Lester, Danielle Otterbine (Frank), Matthew Milton, Sara Boatman, Jess Boatman and great grandchildren Lucy and Wendy Otterbine. She also delighted in many nieces and nephews, some being, Lisa Topolinski, Beth Perry, Reesa Milton, Jan Stinson, Kathy Kellum, Karen Hartney and so many more precious kinfolks.
In her children’s eyes no one was as perfect as Sara Claire Milton, and she will be eternally loved and greatly missed.
