Tatiana Delbar Destiny, 78, was a resident of Rockledge, Florida since 1962. Tatiana died on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at her home in Rockledge, Florida. Tatiana was born in Tehran, Iran. Tatiana, also known as “Delbar” (meaning heart stealer) was a belly dancer her entire life. Delbar was her show name. Tatiana performed in all of the best night clubs in the United States and many foreign countries. After retiring from dancing, Tatiana opened Delbar’s Belly Dancing Academy in Cocoa Village, and she taught students belly dancing for many years.
Tatiana brought Belly Dancing into Brevard County, and reinvented the “Belly Gram”
Tatiana is survived by her children, Jason Valavanis, April Rumbaugh, and Natallie Bogumil. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sean Spencer, Justin Rumbaugh, Courtney Rumbaugh, Karsten Rumbaugh, Nicole Rumbaugh, Victor Valavanis, and Max Valavanis. Tatiana had one great grandchild, Madison Tatiana Spencer. Tatiana is also survived by her ex husband, Steven Valavanis.
We remember our mother for her great generosity and her great compassion for other people.
The family has chosen to have a private memorial for Tatiana, as she wished. She touched the hearts of so many in Brevard County.
