My loving brother-in-law who shared nearly 37 years with my dear sister, Kathy.  You two had a special bond that helped you through life's ups and downs.  Love you always, Kathy.  Baby Sister.

Rex was a wonderful husband and friend for 37 years (9-3-76) We had alot of great times, sad times, and some bad times. But God gave us the love to survive the test of times. I will miss him dearly.   Kathy

An extra note. I'm sorry Ester for not asking for Gods blessing on you and grace to deal with the loss of your baby brother Rex. Its been such a whirlwind of emotions and I hadn't seen you for years. It was nice to see you and talk to you again. Ed Schneider, Auburn, In.

I met Rex over 50 years ago at the farm while vacationing with Ed Schneider. Darius and Myrtle treated us like we were their own. The three of us had many adventures, some were fairly tame, others were pretty risky. We almost always walked away unharmed. 
Rex was one of the most accommodating people I've ever met. He'd do anything for you and expect nothing in return. When I got out of the Navy, Rex found a job for me. My car quit. Rex found an engine and helped me put it in. 
I've been working in California for many years and recently returned. Meeting Rex's family and friends the other day showed me what a gap there is in my life. I've missed so much, yet I'm happy to know that he has an amazing family and so many faithful friends. 
If there are any broken cars in heaven, they'll be running soon.
I'm so happy to have met everybody. 
Rex, we miss you and look forward to seeing you again at the end of time.

I don't know.where to start!! My Dad was a great man he care about all his friends and family.more then himself! He would rather be helping a friend on a car or Harley then set at home... he will never be forgotten I love u Dad

Ive known Rex for 56 years. we have had the greatest times together. We have laughed hard enough to almost pass out. I could write a book about our adventures. No one would believe it. If it had wheels or tracks on it we have fixed it and drove the heck out of it. We loved the smell of burnt rubber up on central road. Some of our marks finally got paved over. We grew up when you could buy a drivable car for 15 to 35 dollars. Gas was 32 cents a gallon. We had the greatest playground. His dad Darius had the township dump on his property. Rex, Dale and I had hundreds of cars to fix up, play tag with, have our own destruction derby. There was 40 acres on that farm and we had ruts, tracks and torn up cars everywhere. we destroyed lots of classics but they were just old cars then. One of our doodlebugs was a 53 buick that finally met its demise when Brandt crashed it into a big pine tree. We did salvage the steering knob though...God bless you Rex. I love you and look forward to seeing you again. God bless you Kathy, Herb, Little Rex, Chris, Teresa, Roger, and all the grandchildren. We love you guys. My most sincere condolences to Kathy, Little Rex (you'll always be "little Rex" to me), Chris, Teresa, Roger and Herb.  Rex always seemed eternal to me, and he will be missed. My Father, Mother and her siblings pretty much grew up at the Farm.  Their times there are the best stories I've ever heard and they never get old.  One of my favorites is the burning moose head Rex and my Dad (as kids) tied to the back of a man's truck who was leaving the dump!  In my mind, Rex was a man of adventure.  He's gone way too soon...and my heart is sad for it.  May God Bless all of you who loved him, both family and friends, and give you peace and comfort.

I am so verry to hear of your loss, I didn't know Rex as well as I'd liked to have, having only met him a little more then a year ago, but,in talking to Rex, found him to ba a very good friend, and a man of a lot of knowledge regarding the old cars.
