

Roy Dean Swafford, 84, of Tekonsha passed away suddenly at his home. He was born March 8, 1931 in Battle Creek to Robert P. & Viola (Perry) Swafford. He married Pati L. Brownell, April 22, 1998. She survives.
Roy was in management for fork lift sales and service. After retirement he was active in logging with Draft horses, he loved horses and horse pulling. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting and shooting and he was a life member of Wolverines State Coon Hunters. Roy was a baseball coach and a Korean War Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Pati, children; Robert (Cecelia) Swafford of Evansville, IN, Faith (Randy) Ludwick of Bronson, Phillip Swafford of Union City, James (Ken Galloway) Swafford of Reading, Roy Jr. (Danica) Swafford of Tekonsha, Tracy (Mike) Simmons of Bethesda, MD, Sherry Selby of Ft. Collins, CO, Corbin Swafford of Tekonsha, Chloe Swafford of Tekonsha, step children; Jerolyn (Bryan) Lewis of Dodge City, KS, Clint Winger of Coldwater, Charity Winger of Homer, 29 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a brother, William Swafford and a sister, Betty Swafford, both of Bellevue.
He was preceded in death by a son, Graye Rueppel, 3 brothers; Wayne, Harold, Bruce and his wife, Sharon.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with the visitation starting at Noon at the First Baptist Church of Tekonsha with Pastor Brian Perry officiating.
