Russ played softball in his younger years, loved to fish, go to auctions and garage sales.
He grew up in Branch County, attended Coldwater High School and was a member of the UAW.
He is survived by his 3 sons, Russell (Staci) Melton Jr. of St Johns, Robert Melton of Coldwater, James (Juli) Melton of Coldwater, and daughter Sandra (Charles) Bailey of Quincy. There are 4 grandchildren, 1 brother, Thomas Melton of KY and 1 sister Sandra Robertson of Bronson.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 1:00 PM with one hour of visitation preceding the service at Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
